Block 2

Scalar threshold

The threshold is the number the indicator is compared against. It can be fixed or an optimization range: AniQuant tries every value in the range as a separate strategy.

Fixed threshold

RSI(Close, 14) < 30
// 1 single condition generated

Threshold range

OPTIMIZATION
RSI(Close, 14) < Threshold[20..40 step 5]
// Values: 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 → 5 conditions
Min: 20
Max: 40
Step: 5
Block 3

Entry conditions

A condition defines when a trade is opened. AniQuant generates two kinds: Group A (indicator vs threshold) and Group B (indicator vs indicator).

GROUP AIndicator vs Threshold
RSI(Close, 14) < 30
SMA(Close, 20) > 5000
GROUP BIndicator vs Indicator
CLOSE[0] > SMA(Close, 20)
SMA(Close, 9) Cross Over SMA(Close, 21)

Block 4

MaxAnd — AND combinations

With MaxAnd ≥ 2, AniQuant also combines conditions with AND: the trade only opens if all of them hold at the same time.

MaxAnd=1
Single conditions only
RSI < 30
CLOSE > SMA
// 2 independent strategies
MaxAnd=2
Singles + AND pairs
RSI < 30
CLOSE > SMA
RSI < 30 AND CLOSE > SMA
MaxAnd=3
Up to triple ANDs

The number of combinations grows very fast — use it with a high MinTrades and rank by ProfitFactor.

⚠️
MaxAnd=3 and overfitting

With 3 conditions the trades per strategy drop sharply → the win rate can shoot up by pure chance. Always use MinTrades ≥ 30 with MaxAnd=3 and pick ProfitFactor as the ranking criterion to filter out the statistically weak strategies.
